"Who Moved My Cheese?" by Spencer Johnson is a little motivational book about two mice, Sniff and Scurry. You might think it's a children's book. . . . but look again! The 'take-away' has meaning and direction for each of us -- young or old.

The mice, Sniff and Scurry, live in a maze with two little people, Hem and Haw. The Cheese Station supplies all their needs, so they never worry about having enough cheese to eat . . . . until one day, they don't. The cheese has disappeared!

The mice, Sniff and Scurry, being simple and adaptable, readily accept the change and go out to find new cheese.

The little people, Hem and Haw, resist the change, refusing to leave their familiar "Cheese Station" with the hope that their cheese will soon return.

At one time or another we each have faced or will face a similar dilemma. It's amazing how quickly life can go from the peaks to the pits. And then, what do you do? Do you stay --or do you go?

There's a lot to be said about sticking it out. But there is no 'hurry up in waiting'. Often in our own lives or business we face the same sudden changes. We have two choices . . . ADAPT or SUFFER the consequences. We all know change is difficult, but in order to have different results, something has got to change. At best, we can only change ourselves -- but it is never easy or comfortable!

In order to change, we must be able to adapt quickly to new opportunities by

    • Overcoming Fear:  The fear of change can hinder your progress. It's crucial to face and overcome these fears to survive.

    • Being Proactive: Expect change and prepare for it rather than becoming complacent.

    • Keeping Things Simple: Don't overcomplicate matters. Often the simplest solution is the most effective.

    • Enjoying Change: Make change an adventure that can lead to something even greater!

These lessons emphasize the significance of being adaptable, open-minded, and prepared when facing life's challenges and opportunities.

WHO WOULD HAVE EVER THOUGHT THAT GROWN ADULTS WOULD BE TAKING ADVICE FROM MICE!
