We've all got 'em! Too bad they not perfect like we are.
The Bible tells us to love our neighbors, and also to love our enemies; probably because they are generally the same people. – G. K. Chesterton
To have a good neighbor you have to be a good neighbor.
Good neighbors are the ones who bring a community together, with acts of kindness and generosity. They keep an eye on your property, raise the alarm about suspicious activities, and band together to make sure the neighborhood thrives.
Good neighbors . . .
Are friendly and welcoming.
Are helpful and always willing to lend a hand.
Are trustworthy and have your best interest at heart.
Are as respectful of your property as they are of their own.
Are sensitive to noise levels.
Are aware of the importance of keeping good relationships within the community.
When you strive to be a good neighbor-- disregarding background, nationality, or religion -- your neighbors will do the same.
Someone once said: "We're born into a certain family, nation, or class. But if we make no connection with the world beyond the one we take for granted, we run the risk of drying up inside. Our imagination and hearts might shrink if we stay for too long inside our cultural cocoons.
If all the people in our inner circle -- our friends, neighbors, colleagues and family resemble us, it means we are surrounded with our mirror image."
Remember, neighbors can be a treasure! So, embrace the quirks and maybe even spread a little love. After all, a touch of humor and kindness might just turn that neighbor into a new friend.
The Good Book tells us: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” - Matthew 22:39
I'M STILL WORKING ON THAT!
