The key to finding happiness is helping others find theirs!
A wise teacher once brought balloons to school and told her pupils to blow them up, write their name on one, and toss the balloons into the hall. The teacher moved through the hall mixing them all up. The kids were given five-minutes to find the balloon with their name on it. Although they searched frantically, no one found their own balloon.
Then the teacher told them to take the balloon closest to them and give it to the person whose name was on it. In less than two minutes, everyone was holding their own balloon.
The teacher said to the children, “These balloons are like happiness. We won’t find it when we’re only searching for it by ourselves. But if we care about someone else’s happiness . . . it will ultimately help us find our own.”
Happiness is an inside job!
One of the best ways to overcome stress is to do something to help someone else.
Helping others takes determination. It's not as 'selfless' as you would think; helping others has a residual effect on you!
What is the flip side of happiness? Focusing upon yourself!
Focusing on others helps shift our thinking.
Like I always say: I feel happy when I receive; but joy comes from me giving and sharing happiness with others.
FIND YOUR OWN HAPPINESS BY TRYING TO HELP OTHERS FIND THEIRS!
