Almost Famous!

A very famous person and some guy wearing a white jumpsuit & sunglasses!

Being famous has its perks. Everyone recognizes us, we get the best seats in restaurants and sporting events, people name their kids after us, and our bodyguard drives us away in a big black Escalade with dark tinted windows.

Putting celebrities on pedestals is a dangerous game. They're human just like you and me. They might have millions of fans, but at the end of the day they still have to deal with the everyday struggles – like finding matching socks or trying to assemble IKEA furniture. Just because they're on the big screen doesn't mean they're immune to the little quirks and challenges that make us all beautifully human.

Do money and fame actually bring happiness?

Our preacher, Jack Graham said fame and money segregates. The more fame or money you have, the more you build walls around your property, or have security (body guards) to protect you from over zealous people that want to harm you or your family.

Bill O'Reilly once said "Being a celebrity is like living in a fish bowl with everyone tapping on the window judging everything you do! American celebrities are constantly under surveillance and every word they say is subject to scrutiny.  So, be careful what you wish for if you desire fame. No human being should be a goldfish."

Being famous by today's standards is a whole new war! You don't get to give others a first impressions anymore. They have probably already seen, heard or read about you on social media or some other news outlet. Most of them have already formed an opinion of you -- based on someone's else's perception of you! And they're coming up with new dirt every day!

Most people can handle poverty more easily than they can handle fame and fortune!

Before you know what has happened, your life isn't yours any longer. But it's not just the constant attention that weighs you down.  You are living in the weird bubble of isolation that fame brings, and you don't know who to trust. Do people like you for what you can do for them, or are they just hoping they can be part of your glamorous Instagram lifestyle? Are they genuinely interested in your opinion, or are they just hoping you'll foot the bill for dinner?

Fame may put you in a more luxurious fishbowl, but you are being followed around 24/7 by others who are ready to capture your every mistake on their iPhones.

So, next time you see a celebrity on TV, remember: fame might come with perks, but it also comes with its own set of challenges. And who knows, maybe they secretly envy your ability to pick your nose in peace without it becoming breaking news on TMZ.

We are all just swimming in the same crazy aquarium of life -- hoping not to get flushed into obscurity.
